Molecular Dimensions is a supplier of kits and reagents for biomolecular structure research. CometScore™ free scoring software for the comet assay that works from stored bitmaps of comet fields and selectively exports metrics to a spreadsheet-ready file.

- The United States Patent and Trademark Office granted TriTek's 6th patent entitled "Method for Aligning Two Objects".
- TriTek released stand-alone crystallization matrix calculator software to assist protein crystallographers in plate preparation.
- 1st Quarter
- TriTek delivered its first Large Panel Inspection System to a semiconductor plant. This zoom-based microscopy system is optimized for automatic measurement and quality control of large circuit panel connectors. The system views an 18" x 18" circuit panel from the top and quantifies stacking errors on the connector from the side.

- 2nd Quarter
- TriTek staff finished development of a state-of-the-art zoom microscopy system fitted with a modified Koehler illumination channel. The result is the CrystalPro™, a fully integrated, computer controlled, inverted zoom microscopy system, optimized for large area, high depth-of-field inspections.
- By expanding upon zoom microscope technology, TriTek staff announced the Universal Colony Counter, a microscopy system designed for automatic detection and cataloguing of colonies.
- The United States Patent and Trademark Office granted TriTek's 4th patent entitled "Computer Controlled Video Microscopy System".
- The United States Patent and Trademark Office granted TriTek's 5th patent entitled "Video Microscopy System", highlighting a mechanical swing-out condenser as an addition to the TriTek PC-Scope™.
- 1st Quarter
- TriTek achieves unprecedented success in providing a live video image of comets (SCGE) using their epi-fluorescence option for the versatile PC-Scope™, their patented personal computer controlled compound microscope.

- Using a low-light black & white CCD camera and a filter cube optimized for SYBR Green, TriTek engineers have been able to observe the live image of a field of comets, that have received no fixative agent, for 20 minutes without significant degradation in the quality of the image. And TriTek programmers have developed comet quantification s/w, and data tabulation and plotting s/w to complement this capability.

- TriTek products were made available for government purchase on the GSA schedule and online thru GSA Advantage under Solicitation #FCGS-W3-98-0316-N, Class 6650 -- Optical Instruments and Accessories.
- TriTek extended the capabilities of their computer-based compound microscope products to perform automatic comet assays (single cell gel electrophoresis). Employing epifluorescence and a low light camera, the PC-Scope automatically locates, focuses, captures, and analyzes the fluorescing cells.
- The United States Patent and Trademark Office granted TriTek's 3rd patent entitled "Apparatus for Aligning Two Objects".
- 3rd Quarter
- The United States Patent and Trademark Office granted TriTek's 2nd patent entitled "Computer Controlled Stereo Microscopy".
- TriTek Development staff announced a dual-head comparison microscope suitable for firearms identification and trace evidence examination. All key functions, including axis alignment, are computer controlled to facilitate comparative analysis.
- 2nd Quarter
- TriTek delivered their second generation material alignment tool to a customer who manufactures industry-leading ceramic packages. The tool provides the capability to automatically align an 8” square mask to an underlying product in less than 75 seconds at an accuracy of 3 micrometers.
- TriTek developed the specialized programming that allows the use of industry standard frame grabber cards to generate a live stereographic image on the personal computer monitor without the use of external peripherals. The image contains the complete raster in both left and right images and is flipped at the refresh rate of 120 Hz. Live stereo viewing is accomplished through the use of LCD shutter glasses. Live anaglyph images can be displayed, or printed and viewed using standard 3D movie glasses.
- 1st Quarter
- TriTek delivered the last of three Radiation Hardened Computer-Controlled Stereo Microscopes to an environmental technology company for delivery to a reactor facility in Idaho. This product allows the operator to view a live stereographic image of a highly radioactive sample located within a Hot Cell while the operator is in normal laboratory space. The system provides computer control of stage position (6” x 17”), Focus (17”), and magnification (5X to 150X).

- TriTek delivered the first PC-Zoom with Micro-positioner to a company performing pharmaceutical research. The system provides the capability to use a very small suction tube to pick and drop off small balls under computer control.
- 3rd Quarter
- TriTek staff completed development of a 3-axis Micro-positioner, designed to accommodate after-market interface devices such as electronic probes (as seen above), scribing/etching tools, sip and puff capillary tubes, etc. When these devices are incorporated into standard TriTek products, the resulting tools can be optimized for a variety of uses such as foreign contaminant removal, semiconductor wafer test probing, and identification etching.

- The United States Patent and Trademark Office granted TriTek's 1st patent entitled "Computer Controlled Video Microscopy".
- TriTek demonstrated the prototype of a computer-controlled stereo video microscope under contract to the U.S. Department of Energy. This product was designed to provide a live stereographic image of an environmentally isolated microscope with all controls remotely operable.
- 3rd Quarter
- TriTek delivered their first PC-Scope Inverted to a university in Alaska. The system was designed for 2 very different applications, examination of live biological samples in petri dishes requiring a Koehler transmitted illumination system, and crossed-polarized light examination of petrographical samples where the polarizer and analyzer are rotated under computer control.

- The Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center's microscopy training course produced its first graduates.
- 3rd Quarter
- TriTek delivered the first two PC-Scopes designed for the inspection of 200mm semiconductor wafers, fitted with the patented circum-ferous lens turret. These microscopes were used to train candidates at the Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center to compete for jobs in the semiconductor industry.
- TriTek developed the Particle Removal System, comprised of a 1.4mm ID tube connected to a compressed gas source through a high speed computer-controlled solenoid valve. This tube can be placed at an oblique angle to the wafer surface and eject rapid bursts of compressed gas to remove particles from smooth surfaces.
- 2nd Quarter
- The Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville VA implemented a program to train candidates to compete for jobs in high-technology industries.
- 1st Quarter
- Realizing that their tools could be operated by anyone, regardless of virtually any physical limitation, TriTek began to reach out to local, state, and national government officials to inform them that there was a new range of opportunities for employment of people with disabilities.

- In an effort to reduce cost and improve aesthetics, TriTek development staff went back to the drawing board to redesign the optical microscope, optimizing it for computer interface rather than human interface. The PC-Scope™ was reborn as the first major advance in the design of the optical microscope in over 100 years.
- 2nd Quarter
- TriTek delivered two retrofitted conventional microscopes to a microscope reseller. These products were the first in the world to provide fully-integrated, computer-controlled microscopy with PC control of the x,y stage, magnification, image focus, substage condenser focus, substage condenser numerical aperture, and field & aperture diaphragms.
- 1st Quarter
- TriTek added Auto-Koehler illumination functionality to its retrofit kit. Automated control over substage condenser, aperture diaphragm, and field diaphragm was integrated into the operations software.

- 2nd Quarter
- TriTek staff developed the voice control option for the PC-Scope™. This feature allows people with major mobility deficits to operate the PC-Scope™ using voice commands. People with disabilities can be as productive using the PC-Scope™ as a person with no mobility impairments operating a conventional microscope.
- 3rd Quarter
- TriTek designed an inverted microscope where XY stage, focus, and magnification were controllable from a personal computer. This product was the pre-cursor to the redesign of the PC-Scope™ in 1995.

- The TriTek Corporation was founded to integrate the tools of science into a GUI environment. The first product development project was begun with a conventional microscope stand fitted with a precision stepper motor stage.
